While attending a West African Dance classes in Harlem, NY, Nyaima Simón Smith became fascinated with the adornments worn by the Sisters’ in the class. Working on a limited budget and driven by awe, curiosity, and creativity, she and her younger sister set out to ‘replicate’ what she had seen. This marked the beginning of a voracious and boundless relationship with fabricating Jewelry. A decade later, Nyaima Simón continues to explore the limitless possibilities of expression using jewelry as a medium.
Unlike other Jewelry firms, all of our products and services are customized and created from scratch. Our philosophy and approach to creating jewelry has not changed since the company's inception. Our designs remain deceptively simple and sophisticated, yet highly distinctive and meaningful. We want to make sure that each piece is personal, meaningful, and well crafted starting from the beginning of the fabrication process.
Nyaima enjoys the freedom of working with a large variety of materials, techniques, and styles, giving a natural organic quality to the finished product. This may cost more than the mass produced option that saturates the market, however, it guarantees that our clients receive exactly what they want, as well as an item as unique as the individual. In 2009, Nyaima Simón Designs was expanded to include the Healing Jewelry Circle™ in response to the growing desire of clients to express their creativity, learn a new skill, and to quote a recent student, “find a fun and productive way to spend their spare time.” In the spirit of Maya Angelo who said, "When you learn, teach. When you get, give," The Healing Jewelry Circle™ is exclusively devoted to fulfilling this philosophy. The classes reflect the ideas that are infused in every piece of Jewelry produced by Nyaima Simón Designs:

- Everyone deserved to wear beautiful expressive jewelry regardless of social status.

Class size is limited so that each participant receives personalized attention. Unlike other classes, students are encouraged to make the item of their choosing, as oppose to working from a kit or following the exact design of the instructor. This gives each student the opportunity to find and connect with their inner voice, their innermost creativity.
